It’s a BRILLIANT design, don’t get me wrong, the hex hole holds the hex nut and you use the T bar attached to the bolt to tighten it on, loosen it to adjust then re-tighten… no wrench needed! Unfortunately the hex hole in my standing base was already bad when I got it (too big, didn’t catch), and after adjusting the position of the fan a few times with the clip base on it’s starting to warp the soft plastic and isn’t holding the hex nut firmly either.So I’m probably just going to go to the hardware store and replace this bolt with a longer one and 2 wing nuts instead of the one T it’s got going on now. If you’re going to hold the fan in the same position and don’t ever adjust it, you likely will not experience my issue damaging the plastic using as intended.If you’re looking for a fan that you need to clip to something, this one is brilliant. and the price is right. It does better with half to one inch surfaces, but I have it on my 1.5 inch headboard all night with no problems for the last month or so.
